NOBLE CAUSE CORRUPTION
We spoke in confidence with serving and ex-CID officers during the making of this drama. They each revealed the shocking truth of ‘noble cause corruption’, a common practice whereby evidence is fabricated or manipulated in order to convict someone who the police ‘know’ to be guilty. Behind this practice is another story where police are frustrated by politicians and the legal system – many officers feel that they are unable to do their job properly and so they feel justified in reverting to noble cause corruption in order to protect the public.
We thank investigative journalist Kris Hollington, and the officers who spoke to us during the making of Noble Cause Corruption.
